When you remodel on a budget, it’s always nice to be able to use existing furniture pieces as those are sometimes more than the cost of the remodel itself! I painted some vintage nightstands white a while back and always felt like something was “off”.
I loved their style and now painted I loved them even more, but they never really seemed to “go”. Buying new ones was out of the question due to cost so I brainstormed over how I could give them a more farmhouse feel without breaking the bank. After turning to Pinterest for some design ideas I noticed a trend in the pictures I was drawn to. The pulls. Almost all the images I had pinned, the pieces had what is known as “cup pulls”. They add more of a modern feel to existing pieces in my opinion. Here is how the pieces looked before…
They just don’t have the farmhouse feel I’m going for with this Master bedroom remodel.
I searched online to find the perfect pulls. When replacing pulls, you need to measure from center of screw to center of screw on the opposite side to make sure they will fit. My two screws were two and half inches apart. I went to my “go-to” online shopping place, Amazon. They usually have everything I need and with a prime account, most items ship for free! Here’s what they look like after…
So you can see, for around $12 a nightstand, I changed the look and feel of them. I am pleased with the change and hope to continue the trend of using what I already own while working on this remodel project. You can find the pulls here. I can’t wait to finish the entire project! It will be up on the blog soon! How have you made over existing pieces in your home? I’d love to hear about it!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
