Hello Friends! I promise I haven’t fallen off the face of the Earth! The last few weeks have been a whirlwind of changes. We finally moved into our new home.
Our New Farmhouse
It has taken us a while to move in, unload, enroll the kiddo in her new school and get into a new routine. It was during this move that I realized the amount of “stuff” I actually had so there has also been a lot of donating and purging going on.
If you’ve been following along on my Instagram you may already know that we purchased a small farm and an old home built in 1908. It’s always been my dream to live in a home with a history. I’ve been doing research on this property and I have so much amazing information on this house! More on that later.
We hadn’t planned to move. We were still updating and working on our other home when I happen to be playing online one day and came across an old farmhouse not too far down the road from where we were living. I convinced my husband to go look at with me and he finally caved. When we got there I walked in and immediately knew it wasn’t the home for us. Pre Kid it would have been a fun and SUPER challenging project but it just needed too much work so we passed on it.
While there, our realtor mentioned he had another listing that the offer had just fallen through that day and would we want to look at it. My husband said it was too far from his work but agreed at least to see it. From the moment we pulled up, I knew. I felt it in my soul. This was where we were meant to be.
I was hesitant to move. My kiddo would be going to a new school. We would have to build a new routine. Hubby would have a longer drive to and from work which meant less time with him in the evenings. It’s a rare thing that he and I agree on something as large of a decision as moving and when I saw his face, I knew we were on the same page.
We listed our home and made an offer on the farmhouse the same day. It took a very long time for the process to complete as there were a few issues on the buyers end.
We closed on December 31st and began moving that afternoon. New year, new home.
