I’ve always loved the look of white sheets. They looks so crisp and clean. However, in the first few years of marriage, I stayed away from whites. I could never keep them clean and nothing is worse than washing your sheets only to have them still look dirty and dingy. So, I wanted to share with you my new holy grail on how I now keep my white sheets white!
My husband was a contractor for years and still works in a similar field so he comes home less than clean. I love him for it. He works hard and it shows. However, as someone who loves bright and light decor and bedding, it has been a challenge these last 10 years keeping my whites bright white. At the risk of grossing you out, my hubby sweats at night. A lot. Which means my white sheets pay the price.
We I also allow the dogs on the bed which means more dirt and dog hair.
I looked all over Pinterest and the Internet to try and find something that would work for me. I tried the baking soda and vinegar trick, bleach soaks, hydrogen peroxide… You name it, I tried it. While some of these tactics worked, they still didn’t work as well as I had hoped.
I wish I would have taken a before and after to show you how well this product worked. But, to be honest, I was a little embarrassed to show you just how gross my sheets look after just one week.
I love bleach but as you know, using too much bleach will cause your whites to yellow over time. Another issue that just popped up was we recently moved to home that has well water. It was making my whites dingy no matter what I tried. So gross.
I just happen to be in the laundry aisle at my local grocery store and saw a product on the shelf. It’s called Oxi Clean White Revive. (affiliate link) I read the label and thought, what the heck. I’ve tried everything else. OH MY GOSH! What a HUGE difference this product made in my whites! Even old sheets that I had washed over and over that would NOT bleach out came clean and were so white just after one wash with this stuff!

Just follow the directions on the label and it can be used in HE washers as well. I can’t tell you how happy I am to have found a product that actually works. And works well.
What do you use to keep your whites white? Have you tried this product? Would love to hear your opinions!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
