Hello and welcome! Thinking about traveling to Mexico? You’re in the right place! My husband and I love to travel and our favorite destination so far has been Mexico travel! We have learned quite a few things in our travels and I wanted to start a series where I share some of what we’ve learned!
I want to start off this series with the best places to shop and book and best times. You all know I am a gal on a budget! The cheaper the better right? I have spent countless hours searching the web and booking through so many agencies and discount groups, I wanted to give you a run down of the best and the not so good.
Let’s start with the best times to travel. Hurricane season for Mexico begins at the beginning of June through the end of November. The most likely months of Hurricane are between August and October.
Laine and I typically visit Mexico during these months for a few reasons. We like the warmer weather, prices can be lower and there may be less crowds during hurricane season. For us, the benefits outweigh the risks.
The best option if traveling during these months is to book with a company that offers travel insurance that includes hurricane weather cancelation or reimbursement.
We always leave an itinerary and copies of our drivers license and passports with family members here at home before leaving. I also keep a copy of them in my carry on and my checked luggage. You never know when you will need it!
One of the best ways to save money on the trip is to look at “Last Minute Packages” through companies like Apple Vacations, Fun Jet, Cheap Caribbean and Book It. I have personally used all of these companies and have no complaints. Great customer service and I love their search options on the sites to find the best packages for me.
Last minute fares are usually pre purchased packages these companies own and want to sell before they expire. You can score some pretty sweet deals this way. Even if you’re planning ahead, these 4 companies have great deals.
I have always booked all inclusive resorts for many reasons I will get into on my next travel post. That being said, I read reviews on Trip Advisor before booking. Keep in mind when reading the reviews that there are some people who just can’t be pleased, so not all the negative reviews are truthful in my opinion.
If you’re willing and able to plan Mexico travel during the week instead of the weekend, this too might save you some bucks on the travel cost.
This will be a fun new weekly post I plan to do as traveling is another HUGE passion of mine and Mexico has been our “go to” for over 10 years on destinations! If you have any questions, leave them in the comments and thanks so much for stopping by today!
