Welcome back to week 6 of my all summer long Mexico Travel Tips and Tricks! This week I wanted to talk about the importance of tipping and why to do it! If you missed the first few weeks I will link them here!
Many of the workers on the resort rely on these tips. They work hard for them. We always make sure to take plenty of one and five dollar bills with us. They take american money so this makes tipping even easier.
You of course don’t have to tip, but I have found many benefits of being generous in your tipping. When we tip the maids generously, I find little towel art on my bed and I feel like they go out of their way to make sure my room is spectacular!
Mexico Travel Tips and Tricks
We tip the guys and gals running the golf carts! Most of these resorts are HUGE which means if you’re room is far from the restaurants, you’ll be walking a lot. With tipping, they are more likely to come and check often if you need a ride!
We FOR SURE tip our bartender. The whole point of vacation is to relax and have fun right? When Laine and I travel to mexico sans child, we like to cut loose. By simply tipping our bartender, we are guaranteed drinks that are yummy and our glasses are never empty!
We always make it a point to tip the wait staff! Not only are they quicker to bring your food, but many times we are offered food options not on the menu. I’ve had so many yummy meals at these resorts that I didn’t even know were an option!
If you plan to visit the spa more than once while on vacation, tip well. Make sure you have the same people the next visit and I promise they will make sure you have an amazing experience.
We have also tipped the front desk. Why? They determine which room you’re in, what your view is… I could go on and on. Seriously, tipping well will go a LONG way and it’s totally worth it. And truthfully it’s the right thing to do.
We tip the butler and even travel guides when we go on excursions. You will come across so many people that will be more willing to go out of their way to make your stay even more amazing if you show a little gratitude!
I am sure I’ve left off some people you should be tipping but just remember to bring your ones! Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today and if there is anything you’d love to know about Mexico travel just leave the questions in the comments.
